I am a financial economist with over 30 years of professional experience in policy work, 24 years of them at the IMF, academia, private sector and World Bank. I am a semi professional musician.

The TED story

What began as a trip to see the blue whales in the Sea of Cortez over 5 years ago, became a lifelong calling to create a whole new economic paradigm that is nature-based and that, not only will mitigate climate change risk. but also delivers sustainable and shared prosperity for all. This vision of how we can live tomorrow is what led me to TED.

Things you might not know

I am professional guitarist with over 45 years of experience. I created the IMF Curriculum for all professional economists at all level, at the IMF. I served as mission and division chief for fragile states such as Libya, Somalia, Yemen, Sudan, South Sudan, among others. Recently, I my book "Macroeconomic Policy in Fragile States," was published by OUP, April 2021.
