Bio

Olufolake is an undergraduate majoring in Biochemistry at one of Nigeria's most prestigious universities, with huge interest in strategy consulting and sustainability. She is the co-founder of Forgewave, a social enterprise that aims to empower individuals aged 17-24 to live sustainably and build sustainable careers while creating a ripple effect on their community. She has been a voracious listener of TED Talks since 2018. She resuscitated TEDxOAU in her university after 4 years of the first edition and is currently grooming others to continue in her stead. Olufolake works at the intersection of tech, social impact, and environmental sustainability. She believes that if she ever comes across a situation where there are no seats for her at the table, she'd create her own table while inviting others to sit.

I'm passionate about

Getting ideas into action, Inclusive & equitable education, promoting lifelong learning, community building, waste management, women representation, sustainability, and social impact.

An idea worth spreading

Those who will choose collaboration in the face of competition, are those who will stand out.

The TED story

My TED story started in 2018 when I came across Luvvie Ajayi's Get Comfortable with being Uncomfortable talk. Since then, I have watched more than 200 TED Talks and curated a habit of listening to TEDTalk Daily podcast every day. I took a bod step of organizing a TEDx event in 2022, an event that turned out to be the highlight of the year for me.
