Sumeet Vaid Founder and MD, Ffreedom Financial Planners With just over 13 years experience in Wealth Management business & Distribution of financial products Sumeet Vaid is already considered a veteran of the industry. Sumeet is currently the Founder and MD of Financial Freedom, set up in March 2009. A graduate from Delhi University in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management, Sumeet started his career in 1995 with Bajaj Capital Ltd. At Bajaj, he was responsible for setting up the mutual fund desk. In 1998, he moved to Prudential ICICI Mutual, and was a part of the initial 10-member core team, which was responsible for setting up the fund. During his stint at ICICI, he advanced from a Sales Manager to National Head – Retail Sales. Sumeet considers his tenure at ICICI AMC as a good learning experience, since he was leading the team with an objective of Focused sales of Mutual Funds & Portfolio Management Service products nationwide among distribution houses, IFAs, Corporates, HNIs & NRI clients. When Sumeet left Prudential ICICI in 2005 it was No. 1 private sector mutual fund with 20,000 Crs AUM. In 2005, Sumeet moved to ING’s start up venture in India, OptiMix as CEO. OptiMix, had been set up as a stand alone division of ING Investment Management (India) Pvt. Ltd and is India’s 1st Multi Manager Mutual Funds & Wrap provider. At OptiMix, his sphere was to supervise product, Domestic & International sales, distribution, brand & communication. After heading OptiMix for three years, Sumeet switched to Networth Stock Broking Limited, as President & CEO of Networth Wealth Solutions. His mandate at Networth was to steer Networth into integrated financial services company with focus on quality of income. The entrepreneur in Sumeet finally got his due, when he decided to start Ffreedom Financial Planners – a venture with a focus on comprehensive financial planning, convenience and consolidation. Sumeet has been awarded CFP (Chartered Financial Planner) certificate by Financial planning standards board of India (FPSB) for his expertise in financial planning. Besides work Sumeet is passionate about being regular at the gym, and any music that can make him dance. He is a rare example of a workaholic who is also a family man – who believes that striking the right work-life balance is vital to a successful career for any individual. *****
