The TED story
I was offered my first TEDx opportunity my freshman year of college at a small TEDx in Alabama. At my latest TEDx, I performed a poem at TEDxNashville. There, I had a conversation with the other speakers, who all happened to established professionals, while I was only a Junior in college. During one of those conversations, I said, "if the opportunities are not where the people are, you have to bring the opportunities to the people." And that became the conversation of the night. At some point, I mentioned wishing that I could organize a TEDx at my college and the host, Kristian Bush, told me it would not hurt to try. Three days later I was applying for a TEDx Organizer License because really, it never hurts to try, and always, if the opportunities are not where the people are, you have to bring the opportunities to the people.
