TED speaker, economist, gender and finance expert, Maja Bosnic inspires audiences worldwide on how banks, governments, and companies can make smarter, fairer financial decisions. She explores the intersection of finance and gender, showing how inclusive budgeting and strategic financial management can drive impact for organizations and societies. With 20 years of experience in Public Financial Management (PFM) and Gender-Responsive Budgeting (GRB), Maja has led major international projects, working with the World Bank, IMF, and Sida. She was Team Leader of the Gender Budgeting in Ukraine Project (2013–2021), supported governments across Asia, Africa, and Europe, and helped develop tools like the PEFA Assessment for Gender Responsiveness and the SDG 5.c.1 sub-indicator for tracking gender finance. After serving as Business Development Director and Sector Lead for Governance at Niras International Consulting, Maja now provides advisory services through her own company. She is also a sought-after speaker, including delivering her TED Talk at TEDWomen 2021 in Palm Springs, where she shared practical strategies for better financial decisions that benefit everyone. Today, she leads Claim.Impact, a company dedicated to making finance smarter, more equitable, and ethical—combining expert advisory with responsible AI to help organizations innovate, optimize, and achieve real-world impact.

My TED story started in 2021 when I was invited to speak on TED Women Conference in Palm Springs. https://www.ted.com/talks/maja_bosnic_how_to_share_public_money_fairly What an experience. I was used to speaking at public finance conferences so speaking at TED and after fabulous comedian Lilly Singh was ... a little overwhelming. My talk was on How to make finance equitable - translated to 11 languages and seen almost 2 mil times. After that, I was invited to be a speakers Ambassador so came to beautiful Vancouver in 2022 to support prof Juliet Shore who talked about 4 day work week. I also hosted dinner on New Capitalism (ask me about it when we meet). In 2024 I was invited to TED Vancouver yet again, this time to talk about Income Inequality - at Northwestern panel. And now, hurray I am coming again. Love TED!
