Bio

Well, let's see. What am I up to right now? Most days, I'm the artist behind Brian Andreas Studio. I think of it as a company that makes stories that change the world, so it keeps me on my toes. But I'm also the co-founder of A Hundred Ways North, an experiment in making spaces for people to thrive. There's also my parallel life as the artist & writer behind the art, stories & company known as StoryPeople. If I had to wrap it up neatly, I'd say that my work in all of these companies is all about the individual rediscovery of imagination & play & wonder. It's also about creating the social conditions for innovation, inspiration & creativity. I think of it as pointing people back to the place where we remember our truest selves. I like to play with lots of different media, including stuff I can get my hands on, like words, wood, metal, paint & canvas, as well as newer forms that are a little more difficult to wrangle: street art & graffiti, video, animation & interactive multimedia. In various incarnations, I've been a playwright, contract archaeologist, cook, tennis pro, storyteller, theatre director, systems analyst & programmer, graphic designer, marble sculptor & accountant. As the father of two home-schooled boys, I've also been a soccer coach, international tour guide, language instructor & a pirate.

I'm passionate about

Play. Playing full out is my hope for bringing people together to create a future that works for everyone. If I can't play, it's not my revolution...

An idea worth spreading

Slow living. Simply be in this body, in this moment. Deepen your world until you ache with the beauty of it. Wish that for your family & friends & neighbors . Wish that for every child of the world. Repeat often.
