About Florence

Bio

Florence Tercier manages philanthropic activities for Dona Bertarelli, as well as her husband, Yann Guichard, and her children. Ocean protection, biodiversity and nature conservation and are the main focus of their current projects. Florence has extensive experience in philanthropy, development and humanitarian action. She has undertaken fieldwork around the world, and led complex operations for the International Committee of the Red Cross, for whose Directorate of Operations she also acted as an advisor on women and war. She has also served as vice-president at Médecins Sans Frontières in Switzerland. Over the course of a decade at Oak Foundation, Florence developed and led a programme with 150 projects in 20 countries, as well as initiatives in gender equality, human trafficking, and in favour of women’s economic empowerment. In addition, she co-created other programmes for the foundation, such as a new fund for climate justice and resilience. She also led the development of numerous philanthropic platforms, collaborative funds and networks, in order to identify joint strategies, and amplify the social and environmental impact of the resources invested in these areas.
