Bio

Nabiha Saklayen is a bio-inspired physicist and Co-Founder & CEO at Cellino. Nabiha launched Cellino to converge physics, biology, and machine learning to enable paradigm shifts in personalized regenerative medicine. The technology developed through Cellino is not only innovative but also built around the mission of creating cell therapies that reflect all of society. Nabiha is the inaugural Tory Burch Foundation Fellow in Genomics at the Innovative Genomics Institute led by Nobel Laureate Dr. Jennifer Doudna. She is a TED speaker and recognized as a Pioneer in MIT Tech Review’s 35 Innovators under 35 list for her inventions in laser-based delivery methods. In 2019, Nabiha was named as one of Forbes' 30 under 30 in Healthcare. In addition to her work at Cellino, Nabiha is the co-creator and lead advisor for I am a Scientist, an educational program that introduces students to the stories of real-world scientists to inspire connection, demystify career pathways, and shatter industry stereotypes. Nabiha received her Ph.D. in Physics from Harvard University as an HHMI International Fellow. Her research made significant scientific contributions to the field of pulsed-laser delivery to cells, with several peer-reviewed papers published, patents pending, and grants awarded. Nabiha grew up in Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Germany, and Sri Lanka. She currently lives in Boston, MA.

The TED story

I have only had two items on my lifetime bucket list. One was to get a Ph.D. in Physics, which I did. And the other was to speak at TED. I can't believe I get to speak at this conference! Still pinching myself. And starting to work on a new bucket list.
