In our pursuit to accomplish tasks, we plunge so much into the involved complexity that we don't realize that there is another way to do it. Such reflection requires more effort for which we don't have time, our subconsciousness tells us. This salient intuition prevents us from making our time spent more effective. Even if the time saving would be overcompensated by the additional time for methodological reflection, we would benefit greatly from our increased insight into the nature of problem solving. So it is the methodology of problem solving than can give us beyond immediate pay-off the much greater benefit to grow beyond our current potential than by merely fulfilling the direct task demands of our current problem at hand.
