She has worked for Film 4, Fox Searchlight and Rook Films working with the director Ben Wheatley for many years. In 2013 she was approached by the British Council to deliver creative business start- ups courses and on the back of this international work, she founded Creative Women International ® to support other women build sustainable creative careers which she closed in 2022. Philiy was an invited RSA Fellow for her work with Creative Women International and has worked as a Fellow Of Entrepreneurship at Bristol University. She published The Business Of Creativity to support other women create careers and lives they love. It has been described as “..an actual bible for creative small business, an essential resource”. When she’s not working you can find her up a mountain or digging sandcastles with her son Huxley.

I'm passionate about

Giving young people a voice and access to ideas that they wouldn't normally encounter. I was orphaned at the age of 9 and it was the people I came into contact with that shaped the way I view the world.

An idea worth spreading

That all people have a story to tell if you listen.

Areas of expertise

business, creativity, education

The TED story

The compassion and support in the audience for the speakers and the event humbled me. We had an audience survey score of 94% which blew our mind and gave us the confidence to renew our licence.

Things you might not know

Match-making business and career connections. I've been writing fiction for decades- but only for me. I'm also a great campfire starter!
