Bio
Hello, Hello.
My name is Charlie.
I'm a purveyor of attention.
By day, I work for a marketing strategy and creative design firm called Curve Idea Accelerator. By night, I'm the cofounder of Moka Boka where we create one-of-a-kind, personalized storybook adventures for kids. Every fall, I help produce TEDxDetroit along with a handful of cool friends.
I love big ideas and big mountains and big sandwiches. I hate poorly designed billboards, speed limits and people who flick cigarette butts out the window. I know a thing or two about advertising, marketing and social media.
I'm on a mission to rekindle the fire in your belly.
I'm passionate about
getting kids excited about reading and creativity, being a force for good in the world, grilling sacred cows, electric vehicles, graphic design, business, advertising, marketing, social media, audiobooks, ending the two party system, solar, wind & wave power, blue sky days
An idea worth spreading
Before an idea can flourish, it needs a soundbite to take root.
Areas of expertise
Advertising, Design, kid lit, Leadership, Marketing, Motivation, Packaging
The TED story
Long time TED fan, I helped launch TEDxDetroit in 2009. I've attended TEDactive and a dozen TEDx events. I've presented my TED talk "The virtue of pissing people off" at TEDxKalamazoo and TEDxOaklandUniversity.
