The American School of Brasilia (Escola Americana de Brasília - EAB) is a leading international school situated in Brasília, the capital city of Brazil, and has been serving its community for over 60 years. Our rich history, depth of experience, and commitment to excellence in education have made us a top choice for families in Brasília. The students, parents, teachers, and staff of EAB work together to positively impact the world through academics, activities, arts, leadership, and service. The development of leadership is a fundamental part of the education we provide and serves as one of the pillars of the EAB Vision. TEDx Youth is, by definition, an event meant to be produced and managed by students and these events are held at schools around the world, and with this in mind, our TEDxYouth @EAB Student Leaders never let the school down. Every event is carefully planned and executed, always leaving our public with a sensation of wanting just a little bit more.

At EAB, we're always looking to the future and aiming to best prepare our students to step forward confidently into the world. Our mission is clear: each member of our community strives to be a “learner inspiring learners.” As we think about the ever-changing world around us, it's more critical than ever that we educate a new generation of global citizens. We wanted to be certain we had a shared understanding of what it means to be a global citizen, so we gathered the opinions of our students, teachers, and administrators to help us discover what exactly that phrase means and how to bring it to life. At the end of our brainstorming, EAB came up with its own definition of global citizenship: A global citizen at The American School of Brasilia engages inquisitively and compassionately with our local and global communities, treats all of humanity with dignity, and collaborates with others to make our planet more peaceful, sustainable, and equitable. We're not only excited about our definition and what it represents, but even more excited about moving forward as a community to make sure we're all living this definition as we take intentional steps toward making our world a better place.
