Tahitia is passionate about creating dialog around diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) especially when framed in the context of authenticity, health, and content creation. She identifies as a Black, Queer, Cisgendered woman with autism and uses she/her pronouns. In addition, she grew up in an interfaith household that was Jewish and Christian. She has close to 20 years of experience working with healthcare and wellness-focused organizations developing inclusive content, guides, and curriculums. She has presented nationally on DEI topics and various healthcare topics, along with writing articles for nursing and non-nursing publications. She holds an MSN from Drexel University College of Nursing & Health Professions with a focus in Nursing Education and Technology and is a Certified Diversity Professional (CDP) and Certified Diversity Executive (CDE) from the Institute for Diversity Certification. She is the owner and lead of Conscious By Us, LLC. A consulting business focused on health equity issues. Conscious By Us, LLC. provides consulting, strategy advisement, training and resources on diversity, inclusion, equity, and justice with the goal of addressing healthcare disparities. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering with the Health Equity Philadelphia chapter of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH®), Society for Diversity and the William Way LGBT Community Center. She lives in New Jersey with a teenager, an anxious dog, and a cat that thinks she’s a brave dog.

Authentic safe spaces

I’m interested in socializing the idea that healthcare equity should form the foundation of how we approach diversity, equity and inclusion work. If our community doesn’t have the basics they need to survive, addressing anything more complex will stall.
