I am a IB DP student from the Republic of Korea, studying in the Manila Xiamen International School (MXIS) located in Xiamen, Fujian, China. I am currently the Social Media Crew of MXIS as the operation manager. I am also the Exploration Leader of the MXIS TED Ed club. I like joining academic and extracurricular activities. I started joining extra-curricular activities in middle school. Model United Nations was my first activity. Since it was my first time, I was not able to do all my speeches perfectly. I was puzzled. I did not know how to start, how to research, how to write my position paper and draft resolutions. However, through the process, I got to understand how things work. I also learned more academic information that I could use in my classes. I also started to gain confidence in what I do and talk about. Because of this experience, I decided to join more and more extracurricular activities. As I embarked on this journey, I developed my skills in communication, critical thinking and social skills. I also improved on how I negotiating with people and most significantly how I collaborate with others. From when I was Grade 9, I started to have a goal - organizing an event my self. The first event that I'll be organizing is the TEDxMXIS, a TEDx Countdown which aims for cutting green house gases and sharing solutions of climate crisis to various audiences including parents and students.

I started to join TED activities by joining the TED Ed club in my school. At first, I have joined as the Exploration Leader, helped the club members on brainstorming ideas and forming their talks. However, after leading the club and listening to what the club members were passionate about, I got to realize that I also have my ideas worth sharing. After I got this feeling, I have also applied my self as a TED Ed Student Talks speaker. I have done my talk last May, 2020. After gaining this experience on sharing my ideas in front of people, I started thinking of activities that students in my community could share their ideas inside them selves. Currently, I am preparing a TED Ed Student Talk for the community and also a TEDx conference. The first TEDx that I will be organizing is the TEDxMXIS. It is a TEDx Countdown which aims for cutting down green house gas emissions and share with the community about the climate crisis.
