Bio
I am Devansh Mundada, a first-year MBA student at BITS School of Management, Mumbai. I am currently diving into the world of academia and exploring my various interests. As a traveler and photographer, I find comfort and joy in moments that transcend time and create lasting memories through the lens of a camera.
After completing my engineering degree from the Pune Institute of Computer Technology (PICT) in 2023, my four-year undergraduate journey has been a woven tapestry of many experiences that have shaped both my academic pursuits and my passions.
My interest in technology dates back to my school days when I delved into various fields of technology, especially in web development, apps, and more. This passion found full expression in my undergraduate studies, where I not only stood out among the top ten students academically in three out of four years but was also actively involved in extracurricular activities.
Outside the boundaries of academic excellence, I took advantage of opportunities to volunteer and explore different fields of interest. An important milestone in my educational journey was my role as a TEDxPICT licensee in 2022, an experience that made me a better leader and broadened my understanding of ideas outside my comfort zone. In addition, by organizing the cutting-edge technology event Impetus and Concepts 2022, I was exposed to the complexities of forefront technology and event management, providing insights into both technological innovation and organizational management.
Currently pursuing my MBA, I try to combine my passion for technology and business, which have been the focus of various internships during my studies. This passion for technology and management led me to join the events and culture committee of BITSoM, where I lend my enthusiasm to organize and execute events.
A strong desire to create social impact led me to volunteer for Make A Difference (NGO) for the past two years, where I dedicated my time to teaching and mentoring over 30 students for a total of over 300 lessons. Another such instance was during the COVID-19 pandemic when I and my friends helped with the development of software to minimize human contact to reduce the risk of the spread of COVID-19 between colleges.
Photography has been a constant source of peace and joy in my life for the past five years. What started as a hobby has become an integral part of my identity. Capturing moments, be it individuals, nature, or life and the fleeting moment, brings me immense happiness. I firmly believe that a photograph is not just a snapshot; it’s a vessel that preserves precious memories for a lifetime.
My journey so far has been a colorful mix of academic pursuits, organizing events, travel experiences, and social impact. This multi-dimensional part of my life feeds my curiosity and makes me want to explore and participate in different aspects of life, which includes making meaningful changes in society.
I'm passionate about
My journey commenced with a passion for photography that burgeoned from a simple hobby. Exploring the intricacies of capturing moments through a lens was my initial fascination. Collaborating with influencers in the photography realm was a turning point. These collaborations not only honed my skills but also provided a platform to showcase my work, amplifying my reach and exposure.
The evolution was organic—I transitioned from merely clicking pictures to immersing myself in travel, seeking picturesque landscapes and cultural vignettes. Travel became not just a means of exploration but an opportunity to curate visual narratives. The thrill of hopping on a bike and venturing into uncharted territories added a new dimension to my expeditions. These rides ceased to be just a mode of transport; they became enjoyable quests to discover the unseen, to capture the raw essence of places through my lens.
What began as two distinct passions soon began to coalesce seamlessly. The symbiosis between photography and travel emerged naturally. Each photo captured during my journeys became a testament to my experiences and adventures. The innate connection between documenting my travels and the visual storytelling aspect of photography magnified the impact of both pursuits.
In this intersection, I found a harmonious balance. Photography and traveling once pursued individually, now work hand in hand. The art of capturing moments and the thrill of exploring new destinations complement and enhance each other. The challenges and triumphs in each domain have taught me the value of resilience, continuous improvement, and the importance of embracing a growth mindset—qualities pivotal to excelling in both entrepreneurial endeavors and the realms of photography and travel.
An idea worth spreading
The basic concept that I want to share with the world is based on the insights of comedians and comedy shows. Often overlooked, humourists are today's storytellers who can weave stories that not only elicit laughter but also stimulate introspection. Beneath these light-hearted jokes are sharp reflections of real struggles.
Their art lies in presenting these questions in a comedic form that acts as a catalyst for social change. The power of comedy lies in its ability to make the audience think about their positions long after the show is over.
In their comedic endeavors, comedians challenge established beliefs and vehemently challenge prevailing opinions, often diffusing aggression through humor. Their skills act as a tool to convey key messages to the masses, leading to a change in social attitudes and behavior. This paradigm shift initiated by comedy has enormous potential. It is important to emphasize how comedy can provide an insightful and thought-provoking look at the human condition. When used skilfully, comedy goes beyond mere entertainment and becomes an advocate for enlightenment, motivation, and positive social change. By deftly challenging cultural norms and perceptions, comedians pave the way for a more compassionate, conscientious, and inclusive society.
Consider this perspective an invitation to explore the unexplored world of humor, leading communities to a more empathetic and progressive collective consciousness. Comedians use their unique style to show how humor can be a powerful tool that challenges deeply held social beliefs and promotes a more united and forward-looking world.
Ultimately, this concept revolves around changing the lenses through which people perceive the world, a transformative effort that the art of comedy encourages.

The TED story
Title: " Exploring the Embroidery of Innovation, Energy, and Impact"
I present before you, Devansh Mundada, a first-year MBA graduate at BITS School of Management, Mumbai. My story is the one that rises above the limits of the scholarly community and innovation, embracing a brilliant blend of occasions, travel encounters, and an enduring obligation to social effect. Today, I share my TED story — an odyssey molded by innovation, driven by energy, and devoted to making a positive effect on the planet.
Act 1: The Flash of Curiosity:
My investigation of innovation started in the blessed lobbies of school, where I dove into assorted mechanical spaces. The flashlight in my undergrad years at the Pune Establishment of PC Innovation (PICT), was an excursion checked by scholastic greatness as well as by dynamic commitment to extracurricular pursuits. During this time, a lifelong interest in the intersection of technology and innovation was established.
Act 2: TEDxPICT — A Groundbreaking Experience:
Imagine this: in 2022, I became a TEDxPICT licensee. Coordinating this occasion was a strategic accomplishment as well as an extraordinary encounter. It was here that I leveled up my administration abilities and widened how I might interpret thoughts past my usual range of familiarity. This section denoted the combination of innovation and different viewpoints, making way for what lay ahead.
Act 3: The MBA Excursion — Connecting the Gap:
At present, seeking my MBA, I wound up at the junction of innovation and business. Temporary jobs during my undergraduate years shaped my point of view, and as an individual from BITSoM's occasions and culture council, I added to coordinating occasions that wed mechanical keenness with hierarchical artfulness. The excursion keeps developing as I look to overcome any barrier between two different universes.
Act 4: Social Effect Through Education:
My story reaches out past the scholarly world. I decided to volunteer with the Make A Difference Foundation because I wanted to make a difference in the world. I put in over 300 hours of teaching and mentoring. Amidst the difficulties of the Coronavirus pandemic, I contributed by creating a software program to limit human contact, showing the force of innovation saddled for a more prominent great.
Act 5: Photography — Catching Minutes, Protecting Memories:
Amidst the intricacies, I found comfort in photography. What started as a side interest has turned into an essential piece of my personality. Photography is not just about catching minutes; it is a way to protect recollections and offer stories. Minutes frozen in time; each photo tells an exceptional story.
My TED story now unfolds as a mosaic of experiences—a journey through the web of passion, technology, and impact. The strings might appear to be different, however together, they weave a story that is exceptionally mine. My process welcomes you to ponder your own embroidered artwork — what strings characterize your account? How might the combination of your interests have a positive effect on the planet?
Keep in mind that our narratives are not isolated threads but rather rich tapestries that are waiting to be woven into a world that is driven by technology and innovation. Embrace the crossing points of your interests, for in that lies the possibility of making significant change. Let us use the fusion of various threads to transform moments into memories and passions into a force for positive impact as we navigate our tapestries.
Things you might not know
Moving can be a big change, especially when it comes to the comfort of familiar foods. For me, leaving the nest four years ago was a mixed bag of emotions, and one of the biggest adjustments was dealing with the food availability, environment, taste, and hygiene. 2019 was the year I moved to Pune and the quality of hostel food was less than satisfactory, to say the least. I lost almost 10 pounds during that phase. It was during this struggle that I decided to take matters into my own hands - literally - and enter the world of cooking.
At first, my journey into the culinary world was difficult. My first attempts were far from culinary masterpieces; in fact, the taste was often lacking. But like many things in life, the practice gradually made things better. Over time, I not only improved my cooking skills but developed a growing fondness for the entire process.
Cooking has become more than just a means to satisfy hunger; it developed into a form of therapy for me. There is something incredibly soothing about the rhythm of chopping ingredients, the clatter of pans, and the aromatic symphony that fills the kitchen. As I became more skilled at cooking, I decided to expand my horizons beyond basic meals. I delved into cooking different foods and into the world of exotic foods.
This new passion for cooking helped me rediscover my lost joy in good food, but it also became a source of creative expression. Every dish I prepared became a canvas where I experimented with flavors, textures, and presentations. It is amazing how a pan and a few spices can transform into a palette to create something amazing.
In addition to satisfying my appetite, this culinary journey has been incredibly rewarding. It is not just about cooking; it speaks of the joy of sharing that food with others. For me, cooking is a way to connect with friends, bond over cutting boards and stoves, to create shared moments and memories that go beyond eating. In the process of cooking, I found a way to fill the void of comfort and familiarity that I lacked at home. It was a trip that not only expanded my culinary skills but also added new joy and satisfaction to my life away from home.
