Bio
Currently Co-founder and CEO of a tech start up that aims to create a world where work is a source of inspiration and connection. Formerly Global Director of Communications with leading enterprise tech organization; head of Comms & Partnerships with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) which is the United Nations agency for ICTs; worked with the International Red Cross Red Crescent for some 15 years working in Afghanistan, Caucasus, Balkans, Pakistan, Somalia, Kenya, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Sudan and Israel-Palestine and, a few years based at headquarters in Geneva. Prior to humanitarian affairs I worked as a tv, print and radio journalist focused on international news and reportage. The power of technology to transform and how we can promote real digital inclusion are my main passion. Serious about harnessing the power of technology to empower communities (including employees); and bring about positive change at the community level esp. in the interests of people beset by poverty, social injustices, disasters and conflict.

The TED story
I had the pleasure to speak at TEDx Geneva in December 2010 and at the inaugural TEDx event for the Red Cross Red Crescent in November 2011 - I gave a talk titled Digital Disasters which is basically about putting power into the hands of people who need it most. I traveled to Edinburgh in July 2011 for my first TED Global event where I attended the TEDx workshop and had the pleasure of listening to some amazing speakers and meeting some even more amazing people. Hoping to attend again in 2012.
