Michalya attended TEDIndia in 2009, where her passion for “ideas worth spreading” was born. She recently completed a Masters degree in international development from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Michalya divides her time between her two homes: Jerusalem and Johannesburg, where she researches the social economy and the impact of social entrepreneurship and social enterprise- accumulating frequent flier mileage between the head and feet of the African continent.

In November 2009, my husband and I were privileged to attend TEDIndia in Mysore, the motivation of our honeymoon trip. TEDIndia was more than a profound experience, it was a mega- event in our lives, setting the bar high for our own dreams and also an opportunity to see TED transformation live and in person. We are the "TedIndiaHoneymooners!"
