Larry Kane

Larry Kane is a native Philadelphian who has dedicated his life to promoting the City of Brotherly Love, and the liberty and inclusion for which it stands. Born in 1946, Kane attended Cheltenham High and received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Temple University, where he became a social scientist. His classes are legendary not only locally but across the country, by way of his archival recordings for NPR. Kane has been called “the modern-day Studs Terkel” because he encourages people to tell their own stories in their own words. “There is no better way to capture the essence of a person rather than simply listening. Each individual’s words are their own music,” insists Kane. Now retired from teaching, Kane has found that curating a fascinating array of TEDx speakers and topics is his passion. You’re in for a real treat if you afford his speakers a listen. Kane lives in suburban Philadelphia.
