Bio

Since 2016 member of the TEDx RuhrUniversityBochum team, as Co-Licensee mainly responsible for speaker acquisition, selection and coaching as well as overall theme and content development. I study comparative literature at Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany and I am passionate about books, storytelling and the importance of knowledge and education in general and the humanities in particular. Together with other students in 2017 I founded HERMAION, a project in which we designed a course run entirely by students. It involves students teaching other students by presenting them their research projects and also sharing best practices and key learnings on a methodological level. I have since spoken about the project and the underlying vision of students co-creating their learning and teaching at numerous national and international conferences and workshops. I am passionate about sustainability and slow travel. I try not to fly if possible and will also get to Edinburgh and back by train rather than plane. This isn't just good for the environment, but also a much more enriching journey. You simply need to be willing to spend a little extra time.

I'm passionate about

TEDx, HERMAION, Active Learning, Open Education, Science, Ideas, People, Books, planet Earth and the Universe.

An idea worth spreading

in a world that is about to be transformed by automation and climate change we finally need to start thinking about how we actually want to live on a collective level. For this to work we urgently need new kinds of global as well as local institutions that facilitate meaningful public discourse.
