Bio
Dave Troy is an entrepreneur, investor, and speaker. He is currently active in the field of information warfare and disinformation research. He is host of the podcast “Dave Troy Presents…” and publishes a regular newsletter about information warfare. His work focuses on the intersection of history, sociology, network science, and political science. He is a Fellow at New America Foundation’s Future Frontlines program.
He began studying social media data in 2007, and has been acknowledged as the first developer to use the Twitter API. His data visualization work has been featured in the 2008 exhibition “Design and the Elastic Mind” at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and at TED. He is also co-curator (with Nate Mook, currently CEO of World Central Kitchen) of TEDxMidAtlantic in Washington, D.C. since 2009.
Dave also serves as CEO and product architect at 410 Labs, maker of the popular e-mail management tools Mailstrom and Chuck. He holds a degree in Liberal Arts from Johns Hopkins University and lives in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife; they are the proud parents of two adult children.
