Bio
Biotech attorney supporting companies focused on curing and treating cancer. Ex-mayor. Applied Compassion trainee in the ACT program through CCARE at Stanford University School of Medicine (certificate expected fall 2021). Board member at Cancer Research and Biostatistics (CRAB), a Seattle-based non-profit. Motto: Be prepared, then show up and have fun. Belief: Home should be a soft place to return to at the end of a hard day. Goal: Avoid the four horsemen (criticism, contempt, defensiveness, and stonewalling).
I'm passionate about
The science and practice of compassion. Neurology. Technology. The environment, parks, and natural spaces. Learning local customs. Beekeeping, cider-making, gardening, partner dancing, chocolate. Public service.

The TED story
I attended the first TEDWomen in 2010, have attended various TEDWomen and TEDGlobal events, and have organized TEDx events in Seattle. I continue to be thrilled to attend TED events and bring the passion, spirit and energy that is TED to the Seattle metro area.
