Caty Byerly Rezendes is an accomplished interior designer, creative director, and strategist with 20+ years of experience building brands, experiences, and environments that connect people. Caty brings a unique perspective to the intersection of built environment and human behavior, investigating how physical spaces inform conversation, collaboration, and community engagement. Her early career began in Hawaii, designing award-winning luxury residences, novel retail concepts, and wedding venues, and pioneering education initiatives at some of the island’s earliest LEED-certified projects. Over a decade as co-curator for TEDxBeaconStreet and TEDxBoston, she’s coached 1500+ speakers from every industry, produced media that’s touched hundreds of millions of people, and created engaging experiences at cultural institutions like Fenway Park, Harvard, the ‘Quin House, Franklin Park Zoo, Paul Revere House, and MIT Museum. Caty founded Rumblespring, a design and strategy studio that applies architectural thinking to complex challenges across industries. This includes developing a healthcare platform with Johns Hopkins that humanized the patient experience, launching innovation programs for Fortune 500 companies EY, TJX, Aetna, and REI, and producing thought leader events at Yale, Google, Stanford, Davos, and MIT. Caty approaches every project with what she calls “a blue sky view”: the conviction that beauty and function are inseparable, that constraint is an invitation, and that design with purpose can genuinely change the world. While aesthetics anchor her practice as an artist, curator, and collector, the deeper drive is discovering the hidden story and connective force that objects hold. Her work applies spatial understanding and craft to create the conditions for meaningful change by weaving storytelling into place.
