Kristin Beitz

Lt Col Kristin Beitz is currently a National Defense Fellow, placed at the United States State Department. She currently works in Diplomatic Security, High Threat Programs, Personnel Recovery in Rosslyn, Virginia. She is a 2003 distinguished graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. After graduation, she attended the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) and earned her wings at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. Following ENJPPT, she was assigned to fly the A-10 first in the 357th Fighter Squadron, and then at the 74th Fighter Squadron. Lt Col Beitz was then assigned to the 17th Reconnaissance Squadron, Creech AFB, Nev. where she flew the MQ-1B Predator and the MQ-9 Reaper. Following her assignment to the 17th, Lt Col Beitz graduated from the USAF Weapons School in 2011, and was selected to return to the school as an instructor for the next two years, training the future leaders of the RPA community. Lt Col Beitz then served as Chief of Weapons and Tactics in the 22d Reconnaissance Squadron, and as the 732d Operations Group Chief of Weapons and Tactics, where she was the chief tactical advisor to four combat squadrons, employing MQ-1B, MQ-9, and RQ-170 aircraft. Following this, she worked as the 432d Wing Chief of Safety, and then served as the Director of Operations at the 867th Attack Squadron. She was the Commander of the 22d Attack Squadron, where her unit flew MQ-9 combat missions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in support of OPERATION INHERANT RESOLVE. She was most recently the Deputy Division Chief at Headquarters Air Force, Pentagon providing policy, oversight and guidance for USAF MQ-9s. Lt Col Beitz is a senior pilot with more than 3,040 hours of flight time in the A-10, MQ-1B, and MQ-9. She has flown combat missions and combat support missions in multiple theaters and operations.
