Gabriel Kra

Gabriel co-founded Prelude after 25 years as an investor, entrepreneur, scientist, activist, and ski-bum. His early experiences working a summer at Yellowstone National Park and for Greenpeace sparked his lifelong commitment to fighting climate change. He now channels that passion into helping entrepreneurs build big, impactful companies that will reduce emissions and fight climate change. Since its founding, Gabriel has built Prelude into a global leader in climate tech venture capital, and has personally lead investments in energy storage and batteries, plant based foods, hydrogen production, solar finance, and novel display systems. Gabriel also serves on the Board of Directors of non profits Activate, The CREO Syndicate, and Carbon180. Gabriel holds MBAs from the Columbia Business School and the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley, an MS in atmospheric chemistry from SUNY Stony Brook and a BA in philosophy from Columbia College, and is not at all certain which is the most useful in his work. Still an avid skier, he spends much of his free time in the mountains, chasing after his wife and four children. Gabriel now roots for the San Francisco Giants after years as a New Yorker, and his favorite guilty pleasure, much to his wife’s chagrin, is Clash of Clans.
