About Richard
I am a…
Educator/Teacher
Bio
As a science educator, I have over 20 years of dedicated service to the wonderful and diverse students of North High School and have been awarded the Worcester Public Schools 2015 Teacher of the Year Award.
I'm passionate about
Science education, especially in the context of an urban high school where I am fortunate to work with students from all walks of life. The diversity of my students enrich my life and add so much to the classroom learning environment. I also work with the LGBT Asylum Task Force, which help people with new beginnings.
An idea worth spreading
Science shapes our daily lives, and being scientifically literate allows one to understand and maneuver through our ever evolving world. Our public schools need more investment in science education.

The TED story
In 2011, I attended my first TEDx event and was inspired to organize a youth TEDx for the high school I work at. Thus TEDxNorthHighSchool was presented in 2014 to great success to the North High School Community.
