About Karl
Bio
Karl is currently the energy lead in the COP26 Climate Action Champion team, where he promotes greater action on climate change within the energy sector. Karl started his career as a diplomat in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, specialising in climate change and economic diplomacy. This included co-ordinating a campaign on the economic and business case for climate change action and three years as Head of Climate Change and Economic Affairs at the British Embassy in Chile. Prior to joining the Champions team, he was a Senior Commercial Manager in the Asset Management department of Ørsted, the world’s largest offshore wind developer and operator. He holds degrees in Economics and Management from the University of Cambridge and Sustainable Energy Systems from the University of Edinburgh.
