I am Fernando "Pando" Oringo—an international educational leader, sociologist, and global community builder dedicated to democratizing learning. Proudly Cordilleran from the mountainous region of the Philippines, my worldview is deeply rooted in community interconnectedness and resilience. Today, I carry those indigenous values across borders as a global nomad, having spent over a decade architecting educational ecosystems across Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Taiwan. My journey is driven by a singular mission: to move education beyond the four walls of a traditional classroom and transform students into active global citizens. I am a passionate advocate for the TED ethos. For years, I have been deeply embedded in this community as a TEDxYouth Organizer, a curation and backstage lead for TEDx Chiang Mai, and a champion of TED-Ed Student Clubs. Whether I am curating an event around the theme of "Preserve" or guiding a nervous middle schooler to the red dot for the first time, I believe that "Ideas Worth Spreading" are not just for adults on a main stage. They are the fundamental right of every young learner navigating an increasingly complex world. Beyond the TED stage, I scale student empowerment by organizing large-scale regional Model United Nations (MUN) conferences and cross-border creative initiatives. Currently, my work sits at the critical intersection of human behavior, education, and the future of technology. As a Practitioner Fellow for IRCAI (under the auspices of UNESCO), I research the ethical integration of Artificial Intelligence and digital tools in learning environments. Supported by my Master of Arts in Sociology and Bachelor in Secondary Education, I am constantly asking: How do we leverage next-generation tech and AI to dismantle institutional barriers to education, without losing our shared humanity? I am here on the TED platform to connect with fellow educators, technologists, disruptors, and visionaries. My TED story didn’t start in the audience; it started in the classroom and backstage. As an international educator, I began by integrating TED-Ed Student Clubs into my schools across Southeast Asia, watching young minds transform from quiet observers into confident global citizens. That passion quickly escalated into action. I rolled up my sleeves and joined the curation and backstage teams for TEDx Chiang Mai, learning the intricate, chaotic, and beautiful art of bringing 'Ideas Worth Spreading' to life. From there, I took the leap into organizing my own events. I spearheaded a TEDxYouth event centered around the theme of 'Preserve'—challenging students to think critically about what we must protect in an era of rapid innovation—and most recently organized TEDx UCIS Youth. For me, the TED ecosystem isn't just a platform for established experts; it is a vital catalyst for the next generation. My story here is about building the stage, adjusting the spotlight, and stepping back so our youth can share the ideas that will shape our future.

Navigating backstage chaos. While I spend my time preparing students and speakers for the spotlight, my secret superpower is managing the invisible logistics behind the curtain—whether it is calming a speaker's last-minute nerves at a TEDx event, untangling microphone wires, or turning an unexpected logistical disaster into a seamless show.
