Bio
My name is Sheila and I am a California born and raised woman who was once a make up artist before I had a change of heart and decided to go back to school to begin a new career. I have always enjoyed working with people and helping others in any way I can. While attending college, I discovered I had an aptitude for Math and writing so I applied to be a peer tutor and spent what time I could helping my peers. I am now on the path to get my BSN. I have been involved with the TEDxMSJC project since Spring 2019 and have met many people with wonderful ideas to share with other. My hobbies include long drives, reading, taking hiking trips, going to Disney, painting, and swimming. My favorite book to read is My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. I absolutely love the Harry Potter books but I refuse to read them often because I absolutely hate The Order of the Phoenix thanks to Dolores Umbridge.
I'm passionate about
I am passionate about helping others. I enjoy the outdoors and would like to spent more time doing some community service to make my community a cleaner place. I also love learning new things. I began to teach myself Italian about 2 years ago and I am now taking classes to become fluent.
An idea worth spreading
Let's lift each other up and inspire one another to be better versions of ourselves.

Things you might not know
My TEDxMSJC team may not know I used to be a make up artist before I decided to come back to school for a different career. Another thing people may not know about me is I am trilingual; I speak English, Spanish, and Italian.
