The TED story
My love for TED started with the talk by Scott Fraser on “Why eyewitnesses get it wrong”. I was hooked by his use of the anecdote and the way he gave unique speech based on his personal experience in criminology and gave tips for the whole system in his conclusion.
During COVID, I wanted to unite adolescents who were affected the most socially. TED, which inspired myself stood out to me as the best way to accomplish that. So I organised TEDxYouth@AvenidaMaisonnave and gathered 7 international speakers ranging from a resilience expert to a physics professor to talk about “Global Unity” and the future that awaits us. I have received a lot of positive feedback from teenagers who said that it made them feel a lot more confident about their future and provided the necessary guiding content.
After that, I moved to another school in Madrid and decided to organise TED like talks, so that students could express their ideas and practice public speaking. This year I am hoping to get license for TEDxKingsCollege Soto and provide an opportunity for 30+ student speakers to show their confidence by broadcasting their ideas about topics ranging from mental health and neuroscience to sports and aging to technology and social media
