Avi Reichental

Avi Reichental (born January 7, 1957) is an Israeli American serial entrepreneur, business executive, and a pioneer in the 3D printing industry. He is an expert in business digitalization and exponential-tech convergence and the Founder and Executive Chairman of XponentialWorks, a venture investment, advisory and product development company that brings together traditional mid-market manufacturing companies and transformative startups to accelerate value creation. Avi also serves as CEO and Co-Founder of Nexa3D and Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of NXT Factory, Centaur Analytics and ParaMatters. He is also a Board Member of the XPRIZE Foundation and a trustee of the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York. Until 2015, he was the President and CEO of 3D Systems 5 and until 2019 he was Vice Chairman of Techniplas and CEO of Techniplas Digital. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Nano Dimension, and General Partner at Cognitiv Ventures.

In a nutshell: We gave ourselves 30 days to put the FUV (Fun Utility Vehicle) on a diet and to lighten its load. We used sustainable manufacturing of the future - generative design and additive manufacturing to design the parts using complex highly functional designs and geometrical structures. The parts were 3D printed faster, cheaper and more sustainably than regular manufactured parts. A jaw-dropping 35-50% weight reduction was achieved per part. With weight reduction came an increase in power, a more efficient vehicle and the potential to reduce costs. Result: A faster, cheaper, more sustainable way to design and manufacture.
