Ryan Miles

Ryan is responsible for developing, implementing and supporting both short- and long-term information technology plans for a Northern Illinois High School District, District 117. He creates and administers IT policies and procedures, and audits information system use for compliance and security. Working closely with the district administration, Ryan often works to improve existing systems by reviewing teacher, staff and student requests for changes, analyzing needs and budgets, and making recommendations for updates, replacements or enhancements. Ryan has only held this role for District 117 for the last 2 years. He comes from the corporate world of I.T. where he managed one of Emerson Electric's technology departments and web development teams. Being around education for the last 2 years has sparked his creativity and vision for the area school systems and their ability to provide students and teachers with the best available technologies that is demanded from curriculum. Ryan graduated with a bachelors in Information Systems from Louisiana State University in 2002. He is beginning his Masters in Education Technology in the fall of 2014.
