Lonny Thiessen has over a decade of experience in oil field and agriculture equipment manufacturing. He is the founder and CEO of Western Manufacturing Ltd., a steel tank and oilfield equipment manufacturer in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Western Manufacturing focuses on using innovation to be the best in it space. Current initiatives focus on robotics and the use of a preproduction 3D virtual manufacturing environment. The company was ranked number one on the Profit Hot 50 list for Canada's top new growth companies in 2012, and was recently listed as one of Canada's top start-ups on Profit Guide's, 2013 Profit Hot 50 list. The company was ranked number one by revenues in this report. As part of its commitment to the Province of Alberta, Western Manufacturing is working actively to involve Aboriginal and First Nations people the in daily operations of its business, by working together with innovative bands to enable training programs to encourage people with educational barriers into the trades programs.
Lonny began his entrepreneurial career as a journeyman welder, starting his first business as a general contractor at the age of 19. Western Manufacturing was founded in 2008 with no third party financing and had revenues of $65MM at the year ending December 2012. In addition to the steel manufacturing sector, Lonny is actively engaged in real estate development,
water recycling technology development, and the expansion of a substantial agriculture operation in the Ukraine.
Lonny is committed to various philanthropic opportunities including the management of a small business focused, micro finance program in Eastern Europe. Lonny is married with two children and both he and his wife are passionate about the environment, sustainable food production and waste and water recycling.

An idea worth spreading
HEALTHY FOOD!!!! We need to learn how to raise it sustainably, eat it locally and do it organically!!! We have to enable the small holder farmer! This can be done through the appropriate application of technology and through a for profit infrastructure corp.
