An idea worth spreading

I love the story about the Seven Grandfathers from my friend bear MedicineWalker. It is available here http://t.co/Xkhn9KYOyI for people who want the entire story. The Beaver teaches us WISDOM, the ability to make decisions based on personal experience and knowledge and to cherish that knowledge. The Eagle teaches us LOVE. To feel true love is to know the Creator. Therefore, it is expected that one’s first love is to the Creator, the Great Spirit. The Buffalo teaches us RESPECT. Through giving its life and sharing every part of its being, the Buffalo shows the deep respect it had for the people. The Bear teaches us COURAGE, the ability to face danger, fear, or changes with confidence and bravery. The Sabe teaches us HONESTY, speaking and acting truthfully, and thereby remaining morally upright. The Wolf teaches us HUMILITY, being humble and not arrogant. The Turtle teaches us TRUTH, to know, understand and live by all the seven teachings have been given to us by the Creator.

The TED story

I owe so much to TED. After attending TED@Aspen, I found myself asking “how can this idea help the world?” After TED@PalmSprings I found a source of inspiration and renewal in all areas of my life. Then, my life turned. I became a caregiver for my mother in 2009. In 2010 I was reprimanded for choosing to stay by her bedside during a hospital visit. I was fired six weeks later. I decided it was time to change the conversation about caregiving ... one community at a time. ICNcares.com was born as a result and I could never be more indebted for the inspiration from the TED Community that guided these efforts! Today, my work at Xperience Communications represents the compendium of living a mission-driven life. Here, I'm inspired to recognize that every person has a story and to always remember the four principles of the Consumer Experience Movement: Respect, Transparency, Trust and Relationships. And, thank you Brene Brown for teaching us that vulnerability is a courageous act!
