My name is Zhou Yue and I am a sophomore at Yangzhou University in the midst of obtaining a degree in English Translation. I studied Arabic in my freshman year. I hope to become a linguist with excellent translation ability. My dream is working for the United Nations. My mother is a library assistant who works at Nanjing University of Science and Technology. Thanks to the convenience which comes with her job, I can easily access to different kinds of books at a very young age. I consider library as my second home and I just can't help falling in love with endless knowledge about everything in the world. I really appreciate my mother's positive attitude toward life. Whenever I suffer from reality and make a lot of complaints, she can always makes me calm down and reminds me that "Life is a gift from god". I learn much life experience from my father at the same time. He works in a chemical company which is far away from our home. So, he is used to getting up early every day to catch the shuttle. Although I don't know much about his job, I can figure out the truth that the work he does must be a tough one. When my father was young, he had travelled to many places. From my mother's vivid description, he was once good at singing and table tennis. "It's you who change my whole life." My father says this to me from time to time. I often remind myself of the importance of family and in order to offer them a happy future, I should work harder and support my parents and family. My parents were both born in Nanjing and there is no wonder that my hometown is this lovely city too. As is known to all, Nanjing is the centre of Jiangsu Province. Not only is it famous for salty duck, but also popular for its beautiful YuHua Stone .There are a large number of tourist attractions and you can find whatever you want in this big modern city. I hope to become a postgraduate in Nanjing University when I graduate. Worldwide stage is certainly good to show ourselves. But hometown is somewhere; even we have travelled every corner of the world, that always haunting inside our hearts. As I have mentioned before, I would like to work for the UN in the future. Since I have been in the Model United Nations Association for 2 years, I have learnt a lot about international affairs. I think, realizing the worldwide peace still has a long way to go. But I am willing to make contributions to it. Maybe you will consider that it is easier said than done. In my point of view, at least, I dare to try my best. For those common girls, their further tasks are: finding a good job, marrying a suitable man and having a baby. It seems that after finishing these tasks, they are worthless. But I don't think so. Nowadays, women are equal to men. Ladies can choose their own careers and family is no longer the only topic for modern women of a new generation. Instead of depending on men, women are becoming stronger and showing more independence. For me, I am realizing my dream by my own way, just because I was born this way.

I am passionate aobut reading and psychology . Reading helps me form an academic spirit and I can help people around me release their worries and pains by learning psychology.

Communication Makes Perfect Many people don't know the communication actually. Before communicating, we should learn listening to others. Then different men communicate in different ways. As a student, if we communicate with each other in a comfortable way, we can avoid many troubles. As to family, parents should talk to children equally and this good relationship does good to kids. In the world, the communication among countries is quite meaningful. If they are all willing to hold peace talks, fewer people will suffer of wars and disruptions. Just take the British Prime Minister's recent visit to China as an example. The visit is intended to promote the business links and accelerate the pace of bilateral cooperation culturally and environmentally. Ted gives us a good platform to voice our ideas. We hope that more people can see the collision of thoughts and new sparking ideas.And more problems get to be solved b

　　I happened to see a TED video online during the summer before entering the university. The video made a strong impression instantly. It dealt with the Chinese women workers who earned modest income but still clung to their dreams. 　　I got to know more about TED in 2013. The regular TED videos left me with the comprehensive understanding of its source , slogans and purpose. 　　The great passion for TED made me start looking for mates interested in TED to form our own team. And I payed attention to TEDx events around Yangzhou. We had attended two TED events in Nanjing and Zhenjiang so far. We were preparing for our own TED events actively. 　　Gradually, TED becomes a part of my life. And I think, university is where the collisions of innovations happens, while TED is the best choice. I regard TED as my career to finish. We youth should put our energy and intelligence to realize our dreams. The voice of Chinese women workers will always push me forward.

I am good at English ,French and Arabic. And I have showed my oratorical ability in both Chinese and English at many public occasions.
