Bio

Fierce advocate for students. Work in Progress. After swearing I would never become a teacher, I have worked my entire adult life in Higher Education. I am passionate about equity and inclusion, student, success, and focused on measuring and building belonging for student and employee success. My life has been a lesson in resilience and sometimes I’m still surprised that I’ve made it this far. Ed.D. UCDenver (2023) Leadership for Educational Equity, dissertation on anti-DEI legislation impact on community colleges.

The TED story

I got bored during the quarantine phase of the COVID19 pandemic in the spring of 2020 and applied for a TEDx license. Five years later, here we are with a thriving campus event that showcases our community and puts student work on display.

Things you might not know

I’m good at crochet, sarcasm, and keeping indoor plants alive. Building community is my specialty.
