Bio
I am Staveta Parashar, an aware citizen of New Delhi, India. Growing up in the national capital, I have learnt to understand and appreciate the importance of diversity. The metropolitan life always taught me that small breaks in this fast paced life of ours make a huge difference. The art of expressing using different mediums and the urge to compete with myself to become a better version keeps me going. If I were to name my full time job profile, I would call myself an explorer. Every time I get a break, I embark on missions to find myself, explore different aspects of life, ponder upon current affairs and day dream. Songs happen to be my escape route, every mood having a specific genre.
In a world full of orators and public speakers, I call myself an amazing listener. Age old philosophies have a special corner in my heart. I am an emotional and a sensitive person and solely believe in giving back to the society by doing my bit. Mahatma Gandhi rightly said, “Be the change you want to see in the world” which pushes me to believe that every small step matters. I wear my self-confidence as an honor badge, am extremely meticulous and do not shy away from taking risks at the same time.

Travelling helps me unwind and explore myself better thus being a major add-on to my list of passions. Apart from my interest in psychology and reading I am a seeker of live music and a variety of food.

The TED story
My TED story started when I was a 10 year old, thanks to my class teacher. Every free period she came to our classroom, settled us down and switched off the lights while she connected the projector so that we could have our daily dose of ‘TED time’. I was always a diligent listener and grabbed the first seat during our ‘TED time’. Not only did it nurture our young minds but also helped us explore different aspects in life with multiple perspectives. TED talks soon became my escape, something that connected me with the world I couldn’t see. I recall telling my mother that I want to grow up and become a TED speaker. TED helped me become a better version of myself and inculcated various virtues into my life.
Things you might not know
I am a trained skier from the Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering and have profound love for horses and horse-riding. I also have a driving for giving back to the community by imparting education to the underprivileged children and caring for stray animals. I can also argue for both the sides of a debate.
