Julie Gorman

Julie Gorman is a master of education candidate in student affairs administration and a Residential Education Assistant Hall Director at the University at Buffalo. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from SUNY Cortland as well as an associate in science degree in humanities and social sciences from Corning Community College. Originally from Waverly, New York, Julie has spent her entire post-secondary career advocating for both students and institutions of higher education. She has gained extensive knowledge through her active involvement in policy development both on local and national levels, and is fascinated by the effect that students who are invested in their education can have on policymakers. Julie has a strong affinity for community colleges, believing in the power they have to strengthen those who are economically disadvantaged as they did for her. She intends to eventually pursue doctoral degree in community college leadership, potentially while working in a student conduct related field. Her ultimate goal is to either become a community college president or to work for the Association of Community College Trustees (or maybe both!).
