Bio

Marjorie Weingrow is the Executive Director of the University of California at Berkeley SAGE Scholars Program, an experiential leadership development program she initiated in 1999 to assist low-income undergraduates get the jobs they love and practice the professional skills they need to get them. 100% of the SAGE Scholars have graduated and gone on to careers or the graduate school of their choice. Marjorie also has over 20 years of experience in business. In the private and nonprofit business sectors, she implemented many successful internship programs, focusing on helping students in low-income, underserved communities and assisting organizations set up a challenging and incentivized internship program. Marjorie is the recipient of the UC Berkeley Chancellor's Outstanding Staff Award, as well as a recipient of the Jefferson Award for excellence in community service. She was the Chair of the Business and Leadership Forum of the San Francisco Commonwealth Club and received certification from the Leadership Training division of the Coaches Training Institute. Marjorie also has extensive experience working with leaders in the area of human potential using experiential, rather than theoretical practices. She has worked with many businesses in preparing and training their workforce. Marjorie is a sought after presenter and workshop leader focusing on inspirational leadership development and has been a keynote speaker at the San Francisco Commonwealth Club and the Craigslist Foundation Annual Conference. She has been featured on television's ABC News, Beyond the Headlines and has also been featured in the SF Chronicle and the East Bay Business Times.
