Gbenga Samuel is a Leadership Coach, speaker and author with particular interest in helping emerging leaders hone their leadership skills and thus become more effective leaders. As a certified John Maxwell Trainer and Leadership Coach he organizes a number of John Maxwell Leadership Certification Courses for corporate organizations including Developing the Leader within You, 15 Laws of Growth and Intentional Living. Participants often describe the sessions with him as practical and interesting. He also serves as the Country Coordinator for the John Maxwell Leadership Foundation (EQUIP) in Nigeria, overseeing the Beyond Success Program. In line with his passion for teaching and mentoring teenagers Gbenga Samuel is the Founder of Teenz Impact, a teenage-based organization with the vision of ‘equipping teenagers to fulfill their potential’. He has over 15years experience in youth work and has served in various capacities including being the pioneer of Students’ World Outreach and a minister at RCCG Youth Church. (Lagos Province 7). He also served as the Chapter President of Young Disciples International (YDI) while at Obafemi Awolowo University and worked as a youth missionary in the organization between 2010-2012. He has authored several books for young people in addition to devotionals. He continues engaging teenagers through various engaging and impactful programmes like Boy Code, Girl Code, Leading from the Lockers, iChoose Leadership Values Programme, Alpha etc. As a John Maxwell Coach he teaches leadership in schools using the John Maxwell iChoose Curriculum. Gbenga is also an active member of the TED Community. He propagates TED’s mission of spreading ideas worth sharing through various TED events he organizes. He is also a Teen Mentor at the Elevation Church. He is also a TED-ED Club Facilitator and TEDx event licensee. He is the lead organizer of TEDxYouth@MeadowHallLekki He is an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University and the prestigious Lagos Business School (LBS).He is also a Certified Associate of Project Management (CAPM) and a member of Project Management International (PMI). He is a member of the Senior Executive Team at Meadow Hall Group an educational group with 5 subsidiary companies including the renowned Meadow Hall School in Lekki and Ikoyi, Lagos. He also serves as a Senior Project Manager at Meadow Hall overseeing the organization’s project management office and expansion plans. Gbenga is married to Oluwakemi Samuel and they are blessed with two boys.

I first came across TED by attending a TEDx event online. Attending the event sparked a curiousity in me. I immeadiately told myself I wanted to know more about TED events and I set a mental goal to organize a TEDx event for my community. I contacted the organizer of the TEDx event I attended and she was so gracious in sharing the information I needed to proceed. Two (2) years after I have organized two TEDx events, run 6 streams of TED-ED Clubs and I am currently preparing for my third TEDx event.
