Bio
David Bornstein is the CEO and co-founder of the Solutions Journalism Network, which is working to establish solutions journalism as an integral part of mainstream news. He has been a journalist, focusing primarily on social innovation, for 30 years. From 2010-21, he co-authored the “Fixes” column in The New York Times. He is the author of: How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas, which has been published in 25 languages, The Price of a Dream: The Story of the Grameen Bank, and Social Entrepreneurship: What Everyone Needs to Know.
In addition to his reporting, David has led presentations and workshops on social innovation for audiences around the world. He is the recipient of the Award for Leadership in Social Entrepreneurship from Duke University, the Human Security Award from the University of California-Irvine, the Harry Chapin Media Award, the Middlebury Center for Social Entrepreneurship “Vision” Award, the Social Innovator Award from the Lewis Institute at Babson College, and was a finalist for the New York Public Library Book Award For Excellence In Journalism. He has served on the boards of VisionSpring, Encore.org and BMe Community and is a member of the Ashoka and DRK Fellowships.
