Bio
Richard Lam is a Vancouver-based educator and creative leader passionate about empowering students through entrepreneurship, digital media, and real-world learning. With over a decade of experience in public education, Richard currently teaches Business and Technology at Eric Hamber Secondary School, where he mentors student-led ventures like the Griff Store and community storytelling projects such as the Daycare Storybook Collaboration.
Rooted in the belief that every student deserves a voice and a stage, Richard designs experiential learning environments that blend creativity, critical thinking, and cultural relevance. His classrooms don’t just teach business—they run businesses. His work integrates Indigenous perspectives, BC’s Core Competencies, and inclusive practices that champion equity and truth and reconciliation.
Richard is also a father, curriculum developer, and founder of EduCan Consult, where he supports families navigating the school system with compassion and clarity. Whether he’s crafting lesson plans, advising youth entrepreneurs, or building bridges across communities, Richard shows that leadership begins with listening—and that real learning lives beyond the bell.
