Bio

My studies & skills: I am an Industrial Designer from Javeriana University, a top school in Colombia, where I am from. During my studies, I developed practical skills and extensive knowledge in the fields of Innovation, Development, Sociology, technology and product development. My multi-disciplinary skill set reinforces my desire to work in and learn about both Development and Innovation. Moreover I am doing a Master degree in Transport and Planning and next year I will do another Msc in Smart cities and Urban analytics in University College London- Most relevant work experience: While working for Colciencias, the public department promotes science, technology and innovation. As an assessor of marketin and innovation, I realized the advantages and importance of having a multidisciplinary profile. At Colciencias, I was fortunate to manage diverse projects focused on increasing innovation, and execution of development strategies. Moreover, I have worked in three different countries. I have had experiences and involvement in both the public and private sector. At the moment I share my time doing my Master degree and I am the Creative Director of an small company called DudleLab, which is an start up that promotes solutions trough creativity and innovation. International background: During my life, I have developed a truly international background to differentiate me and prepare me for a global market. This includes exposure to different geographies, languages, and cultures: I am bilingual: Spanish & English, and proficient in Italian. I have lived in Argentina, Trinidad & Tobago, The United States, Colombia and Wales. I have visited some developed countries (USA, Germany, Austria) and also some developing countries (Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Curacao and Colombia). This international exposure has given me a better understanding of the world and its diversity, including: inter-cultural communications, business practices, cultures, economies, religions and philosophies.

I'm passionate about

Travelling and writing. I enjoy meet new people who always can teach things, then I try to translate that thinking into articles that can change thw way how we perceive the world.

An idea worth spreading

Happiness can change the world. It is proved that people are happier if they cycling or walking intead of driving a car or take a bus or train. It means that if we promote cycling based on happiness we will have a happier society but as well a sustainable wold, due to cyclcing and walking do not produce green house gases and the majority of the trips could make by those modes of transportation.

The TED story

I have been the TEDxVillaCampestre's designer for 2 years. Moreover, I made the graphic and the design of the stage for TEDxGetsemaní, both in Colombia. I have been watching and involve with TED activities for the last 5 years, as a designer and also as person who watch the talks and read the articles. TED has provided me a los of knowledge thanks to the talks but as well the recommendations of books or activities. The last book I read was a TED recommendation, The happiness hypothesis. This book drove the tesis of my master into another step. Because today I am creating a theory abou how happiness can drive sustainable cities or sustainable transport and this thanks to TED.
