Bio

Will is CEO, President, and Medical Director of the Angiogenesis Foundation, a nonprofit organization he co-founded in 1994 to re-conceptualize health and fighting disease through angiogenesis, the process used by the body to grow and maintain blood vessels. Will's work has brought to the world 30+ paradigm-shifting treatments for cancer, blindness, and wound healing, impacting on more then 50 million people worldwide. Will's new book EAT TO BEAT DISEASE: The New Science of How the Body Heals Itself, brings a disruptive approach to concept of "Food is Medicine". When it comes to food and health, there are no 'superfoods' — it's about how our body responds to the food we put into it. Will introduces five health defense systems that are hardwired into the body from birth, that fire on all cylinders to resist disease, and how these can be activated by foods. Abundant scientific, clinical, and public health data reveals new truths about how and which foods are truly beneficial to prevent cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer's, diabetes, obesity, and even autoimmune diseases. This next level workHis marks Will's journey since his 2010 TED Talk "Can we eat to starve cancer". Through the Angiogenesis Foundation, Will is building HealthXpedition, a new global platform whose purpose is to unlock and optimize the health potential of foods as a countermeasure against major diseases around the globe. Will's work has engaged the World Health Organization, the National Institutes of Health, the Vatican, NASA, the Milken Institute, and leading universities and NGOs across North and South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed scientific and clinical articles, book chapters, and abstracts, including publications in leading journals such as Science, Lancet, New England Journal of Medicine, and Nature Reviews, and serves on the boards of public and private companies focused on health and life sciences innovation. He is a regular contributor to the Dr. Oz Show and Thrive Global.
