Bio
Founder of TEDxCanggu, Bali, Indonesia | Founder & CEO of KaBu & Co.KaBu & Co focuses on solving the most fundamental issue of our time, global poverty. We are predicted to bring 1 million farms or 4-5 million farmers out of poverty in 2020. Additionally, we are in process to launch a non-profit coffee roaster, training homeless, street youth as roasters and baristas. My life has been interesting and fortunate, spanning a few industries and gaining a small reputation in changing global systems and creating new ones. Now it’s time to change the biggest one of them all – agriculture. My past: • Anti-Trafficking and extraction (2 years) • Global MD of an architecture firm of 400 architects (London, Bangkok, Shanghai) • Advisor to the Seasteading Institute (San Francisco) • . Advised 3 states on how to redesign their cities • Keynote speaker at the Birds Nest Stadium "The future of architecture" at 33 years old (Beijing) • One of 500 global cultural influencers to watch (UK Guardian/Observer) • Founding team of The Catalina Film Festival (5th biggest film festival in the US) • CEO of an art management company focused on political and expressive art. (Tokyo) Built the career of the Japanese Banksy (281 anti-nuke) • . Supported over 3000 nuclear protests with art. • A published academic author in Taiwan (The business of art) • On stage with the CEO of Monsanto, Louis Drefus, Golden Agri. Head of US Grain and US consulate. After they all ganged up on me in front of 500 people to a packed house, I had to educate them all on stage explaining their actions such as being the cause of the murder or orangutans, 500,000 mass suicides in India, bullying Indonesia farmers. So many events greenwash and we always need someone to counter. Media: Been featured as myself, one of my companies or artists I’ve managed; Vice documentary, The Guardian, Observer, South China Morning Post, The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, RT, Channel 24, BBC. I'm passionate about
Solving core issues in all sectors - Economics, environment, culture.
Always happy to support ANYONE who knows a solution to a problem.
To many people talk about the problem without a solution. Plastic, climate change etc I hear a lot of talk, with only “we need to solve this”. Great, how?
I believe there are easy solutions to global issues and we have found the solution for global poverty and if I have found this solution, there must be easy solutions for the other big issues we face, while I believe life is simple and people make it complicated.
An idea worth spreading
TAX and how taxation is the solution to many of the issues we face in the world today. I think I'm the only person I know who thinks TAX is great but just look at Norway. High TAX, great public services :D
Tax rates per capita - draw your own conclusions.
Sudan - 0.0%
Syria - 1.3%
North Korea - 1.6%
Norway - 70%
Areas of expertise

The TED story
Loved TED for years. Watched so many great talks. Some really impacted me but I wanted to do more. I wanted to create a TEDx event and so TEDxCanggu was born. 2018 will be our first year. Once I was given the License I contacted two good friends and instantly they both came onboard :D
