Bio
Im presently 43 years old, worked in the banking sector for 14 years and have a consulting firm for 8 years. Im an Economist, but also a Chartered Accountant plus I have a masters degree in Financial Markets and Derivatives. I want to be known more as an Economist. I also pride myself in being something of a sociologist, plus i have been a columnist - often syndicated - for the past 11 years. I have written two books. The first one CRUSHED - Navigating Africa's Tortuous Quest for Economic Development: myths and realities, was published in 2011, while the second one THINGS TO DO, BEFORE YOUR CAREER DISAPPEARS, is fresh off the publishers
I'm passionate about
AFRICA AND GLOBAL ECONOMICS. I'm passionate about the unasked questions, which border on the need for self-introspection. I care about those larger issues that concern the world. We should think in 3D
An idea worth spreading
THINGS TO DO, BEFORE YOUR CAREER DISAPPEARS. This is a book I've just written which will soon appear on amazon.co.uk. It's premised on the monumental developments in technology, but quickly boils down to how African peoples who are the most disadvantaged should respond to the fact that MOST careers are today in jeopardy as a result of 1. Computerisation 2. Robotisation 3. Globalisation and technology in general 4. Business efficiency 5. Corporate and national competition among other factors. The scenario is pretty scary and we all must be prepared. The whole world must wake up to this fact and rearrange its resources rather than walk into the uncertainty that the future holds. It is the disappearance of careers - some gradually others suddenly - that is most responsible for global unemployment.
