Bio
Abby is a student interested in leadership and social justice activism, especially when it comes to the youth. With organizing and facilitating TEDxBeaverCountryDaySchool, she wishes to pursue these passions. Abby has been a varsity soccer and varsity basketball athlete since her freshman year of high school which has taught her leadership, developed her already strong work-ethic, and showed her how to collaborate with others on a team. Additionally, she has been captain of varsity basketball for two years, and captain of varsity soccer for one year. This past summer, Abby was a counselor in training at YMCA Camp Nellie Huckins where she developed her pre-existing leadership skills and had the space to express her true self. Abby is also extremely passionate about the environment and has been the co-president of the Beaver Environmental Action Team for two years. Lastly, and most importantly, Abby is very interested in social justice, particularly Native American rights. She has been researching the intersectionality of this interest with environmentalism, religion, and politics for the past year. In her free time, Abby loves to play read, run, and spend time outdoors.

An idea worth spreading
"You have to be the kind of person who can make the best out of a Tuesday. You know those people who live for the weekends? They’re wishing their life away. You have to find something worth living for or else you’ll look back and realize you’ve wasted your life away.” – Drew Marvin
