The TED story
I hate writing about myself, so I asked my significant other to write something:
11 years ago, Cesar gave a TED Talk.
He shared his story about the fleeting nature of memory and offered a creative solution. After ages of pinching his pennies, he took a year off of work to travel, connect, and explore while starting on a personal project called “1 Second Everyday”. After a year of filming, he’d strung snippets of not just joy and wonder, but also of grief and gratitude. Even still, he’s cataloguing all those memories, seconds turning into minutes and into hours. It was in this TED TALK that he expressed the realized importance of making the most of a day and cherishing even the smallest of moments.
Since then, “1 Second Everyday” has transformed from a personal project to a wild success. Cesar’s delivered countless speaking engagements on creativity, memory, and accidental entrepreneurship. The app turned into an amazing company filled with bright individuals. 1 Second Everyday has been featured in film, has been the top app in the Apple Store on multiple occasions, and even recently launched a social network.
These are all things to be immensely proud of, but what I admire above it all is something much simpler. Most of us are lucky to leave a positive impact on one individual, it’s something I’ve always strived to do myself... but, I can say without a doubt that Cesar has done this for the over million users of 1 Second Everyday and their loved ones. Weddings, babies, funerals, heartbreaks, hikes, eggs over easy, confetti, concerts, comforters, window seats, and lazy sundays.
He’s made the lives of millions of users of 1 Second Everyday Better. Even before I met him, he made my life better, too. Little I did I know.
