Abigail Lopez-Byrd is an educator, artist and entrepreneur. Originally from Compton, CA Abigail has always sough to incorporate art, history, creativity and community-building to better support underserved communities through art initiatives and a holistic approach. She has worked in K-12 schools, universities and the non-profit sector providing counseling and mentorship to first-generation college students of color. Abigail holds her M.A in Sociology and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University and a B.A. in Art and Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. In 2019 Abigail created Color Compton, a non-profit focused in Compton that teaches youth Compton's history and art grounded in identity and community work.
