Bio
1951: Born in Japan, 1974: Graduated from the University of Tokyo. 1981: Received a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from the University of Tokyo. 1987: Worked at the Battelle Memorial Institute and also at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratories in the USA. 1990: Founded the Japan Research Institute and served as a member of the board. 2000: Became a Professor at Tama University in Tokyo. 2000: Founded the Think Tank SophiaBank, a global network think tank for the paradigm change of social system. 2003: Founded the Japan Social Entrepreneur Forum. 2005: Nominated as a Member of US-Japan Innovators by the Japan Society in the US. 2008: Appointed as a Member of the Global Agenda Council of the World Economic Forum (Davos Conference). 2010: Became the Japan President of the Club of Budapest, which has four Nobel Prize Winners as honorary members. 2011: Appointed as a Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan to cope with the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant Accident and advised the Prime Minister on changing the nuclear energy policy of Japan. 2012: Started the social movement of the Democracy 2.0 Initiative to promote the evolution of democracy.
