Bio
I am an unashamed dark chocolate addict, high-heel wearer, lover of power tools, a strong advocate for women, a new grandmother to the cutest baby ever, a big believer in the power of intergenerational relationships, and I speak with a raspy voice inherited from my 105-year-old soul mate—my Nana.
Lori Stevic-Rust, Ph.D. ABPP is a clinical health psychologist, media consultant, author, and award-winning keynote speaker for women’s empowerment, gender solidarity, and racial equity, along with topics related to the health benefits of courage and gratitude, healthy aging, and creating a life and business from your passion.
Her strong advocacy for women and seniors earned her the Outstanding Leadership Award in Adult Abuse, Awareness & Prevention by the Western Reserve Area on Aging. She was honored as a Woman of Achievement from the YWCA and inducted into the KSU Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Alumni.
Dr. Stevic-Rust has written six books on topics ranging from depression, heart disease, and wellness, a personal memoir on the art of aging with gratitude, Greedy for Life, and her women’s empowerment book entitled Put on Your Big Girl Shoes: Stepping into Courage, Resilience, and Gratitude. Her most recent book, Lily’s Red Shoes of Courage, is a children’s book teaching children about inclusion, bias, and the importance of being an Upstander, not a bystander, when bullying occurs.
She is an international dementia care consultant and creator of the Holistic Dementia Care® program.
The governor has appointed Dr. Stevic-Rust to serve on the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Task Force for Ohio.
She is the founder and director of a non-profit organization, Nana’s Tribe Foundation-mission to unite seniors and youth to eliminate isolation and bias through generational connections that foster learning and inspire purpose.
She is a member of the Getting to We, Inc. a non-profit organization that develops and promotes charitable initiatives and educational projects that turn us and them into we, especially in high conflict, emotionally charged social issues such as racism, sexism, and heterosexism. Dr. Stevic-Rust is responsible for documentary production and educational program development. She is a producer and associate director on the documentary Trust in Black and White.
She is married to her other soul mate, Jay Rust, and together, they have two beautiful adult daughters, Sarah and Katie, and a new granddaughter, Isla Jane.
